I’m a very avid movie watcher, you name a movie made in the last 50 years, I probably either know about it or have seen it. So I’ve decided to start recommending movies while everyone is forced to be a shut in. They might be any genre, so except some interesting stuff.
Let’s start out with the first movie.
The Nice Guys
This movie came out in 2016 and despite having an A list cast, somehow flew under the radar. Set in the 70’s, it stars Ryan Gosling and Russell Crowe (Fightin’ ’round the world!) As two private eyes (Russell Crowe is more of an arm breaker) whose lives end up intertwined as they search for a missing girl and end up uncovering a conspiracy involving the Detroit auto makers and some pornographers.
It was written and directed by Shane Black (The guy who wrote Lethal Weapon and also the guy with the glasses in Predator that made the jokes about his girlfriend’s huge vagina). He’s made/written about a million movies that you’ve seen (He made Iron Man 3, but let’s just forget about that one).
But honestly, this is one of the funniest movies I’ve watched in years. Ryan Goslings character is a dopey dickhead and Russell Crowe is a clever, good hearted, asshole and it just works. There’s so many good gags (I’ll throw in some gifs), but not enough that it cheapens the story. It’s one of those movies that keeps you interested the whole way through and a little sad when it ends.

Anyways, I highly recommend it. Check it out and let me know what you think.
Or don’t. I don’t care.
